Swiss Scout 2.0
In our latest update from the Swiss Scout 2.0 expedition, we're thrilled to share the culmination of our European journey with a stop in Bern, Switzerland. This leg of our trip proved to be pivotal as we finalized crucial details for our upcoming film projects, particularly "The Color of Flesh," and laid the groundwork for the Schweizer Studios build.
One of the driving forces behind our discussions in Bern was the implementation of a Swiss national tax incentive for filming. With industry veteran Barrie M. Osborne in attendance, we were able to draw upon his wealth of experience, particularly his success with similar incentives in New Zealand during the production of the iconic "Lord of the Rings" franchise. His insights and expertise lent invaluable credibility to our efforts, facilitating constructive dialogue with local stakeholders.
Throughout our time in Bern, we engaged in productive conversations with several key figures, including Mayors, the Head of Tourism, representatives from the Bern Economic Development Agency, and various Swiss filmmakers. Their overwhelming support for both the tax incentives and the Schweizer Studios build reinforced our confidence in the viability of our projects and the potential for fruitful collaborations.
In addition to these discussions, our scouting efforts spanned across cities such as Interlaken, Biel, and the breathtaking Jungfrau region. This meticulous exploration allowed us to not only finalize the locations for "The Color of Flesh" but also identify the ideal site for the Schweizer Studios build in Interlaken. With the groundwork laid and enthusiastic support from local authorities and industry players, we're poised to embark on an exciting new chapter in Swiss cinema.
As we prepare for our one-week filming stint in Switzerland for "The Color of Flesh" and continue to advance our plans for Schweizer Studios, we're grateful for the warm reception and unwavering support we've received from the Swiss community. Stay tuned for more updates as we bring these projects to fruition, showcasing the unparalleled beauty and cinematic potential of Switzerland on the global stage.
